SHE'S NO SJP. . .
Here is what I wrote;

My Mother n law lives right next door to Mark Tyre and everytime we visited for Xmas or any holiday we would rarely see the dogs. They did have 2 dogs at one time. They have a fenced in back yard and doggie door but we never really saw the dogs roaming outside as I dont think they were using the doggie door. When they WOULD let them outside in the backyard, Jack would escape and then we wouldnt see him the rest of the night. Jack is a big dog and he deserved to be let out more often.
Also, Mark's girlfriend (and mother of his kids) would come over (against our wishes) and try to "hang out" while we were cooking out and leave the 2 very young kids in the house alone and unattended.
I don't believe they are good parents to kids or animals as they seemed much more concerned about themselves. I don't know if he will take better care of the dog and I dont believe his story. He was rarely ever home.
I hope that the children and pets are in good hands and that someone from the state will check in on the kids and animals.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Charlene.
p.s Keep up the good work Amanda, you are a ray of sunshine!
THIS IS WHAT SHE WROTE ME BACK:
Hey Charlene...
Thanks for taking the time to drop a note. What I'm hearing from you...we heard from several other neighbors. It seems like Mark and his girlfriend have some bad stuff going on in their lives and he claims she just checked in to drug rehab. I told Orange County Animal Services that we had heard there were concerns about the welfare of the two kids and they said their investigators would make note of that. Apparently their animal abuse investigators are trained to also notice signs of child neglect and if they see it...to call DCF.
Take Care and glad you watch WESH TV

UPDATES
Now you know I was concerned for Charles (the seemingly perfectly healthy kid laying on the table) but the tech was (ahem. . .) quite nice looking.
He was great with Charles and he asked him if he had alot of things on his mind. Charles said not really and the guy mentioned his new motorcycle that he couldnt get off of his mind as an example.
Then Charles asked the guy if he could hook the monitor of the sonogram and up to the internet to which the guy responded, "No but if I could, I would be checking out surfline all the time."
Brownie pts. . . unable to use. Anyone have a tummy ache????
Anyway Charles went to school on Tuesday (day before sonogram) looking about 60% as I spoke of in the blog but came home fine. And yesterday, the day of the sonogram (we kept him home from school), he felt GREAT. His appetite is normal but he has a little trouble on the john now and then.
Today again he complained of a minor tummy ache. The Doctor wants to to a Cat Scan next. That seems so drastic but I think it's the only way they can really check his intestines. We really dont know what to do. At this point we are just monitoring him. I have completely cut out yogurt thinking that could be causing a build up of bacteria. The Cat Scan is certainly a possibility. We are staying in close contact with our Dr.
Any opinions?
WEEKEND PLANS
"Enjoy some of Brevard's best wines, micro and import beers, and delight in the tastes from over 35 of Brevard's leading restaurants and caterers!
Before the wine, beer and culinary sampling gets underway, enjoy a fabulous POPS concert (about 45 minutes) by YOUR Brevard Symphony Orchestra. The concert hall doors open at 5:00 pm and each guest will receive complimentary champagne presented in a BSO logo wine glass to use throughout the festival and to take home as a keepsake of the event. The concert begins at 5:30 sharp and will include the following musical selections:
Bizet - "March of the Toreadors" from Carmen Suite No. 1
Sibelius - Finlandia
Kander/arr Ricketts - Music from Chicago
Manilow/arr Lowden - Copacabana
Williams - Superman March
Following the concert you are invited to the Rotunda, Studio Theatre and King Center Main Stage, where the wine and beer will be flowing and the aroma of delicious culinary creations will fill the air. This year the Festival has expanded onto the main stage to allow for more space and improved crowd flow.
Like a fine wine, this is a fun-filled event that you will savor. Where else can you hear a professional symphony concert, enjoy great wine and fabulous food for over three hours for $75...only with the BSO!"

LATELY
Last Thursday, they scheduled him for an Xray which came out normal. Sunday he had a tremendous headache and slept for a few hours in the afternoon. Yesterday, the Dr called and recommended Zantac 75 and scheduled an appt for bloodwork in the afternoon and a sonogram for next week. (we are desperatly trying to move it up to this week). Today he had trouble on the john and went to school not feeling 100%
Yesterday when he went to have blood work, we all went and Jerome was a nervous wreck. (Charles is a mommas boy and Jerome is his momma! lol). When the pathologist came out to get Charles, Jerome had to go outside and I went in with Charles. I just told him to look at me. He didnt even flinch but kept asking questions along the way. "What's that?", "What's that for?". . .
Jerome kept waiting to hear the screams of his tortured child to no avail. My big boy.....
Sooo, after all these tests, keep your fingers crossed that it is something simple.
On Saturday he was feeling fine and we went to a benefit for a guy named Dave Genchi who apparently had a skiing accident reecently and became paralyzed. We didnt know him but he was well known around the community for taking pics of surfers, skaters and local soccer teams since his Dad was a coach. Our friend Jim knew him through his soccer photos.
The benefit had 3 bands, a grill w/ food, jumpy thing for the kids and they were raffling off surf stuff. All of the proceeds went to help him and his recovery. I think they made well over $20,000.
I had 2 beers and Mom had 2 beers, one of which she spilled in the bathroom and one of which she spilled after her fall on the paved road. I assure you she wasnt drunk just blonde. (I did somehow inherit some of these traits because I can usually just injure myself).
Also, after she got home, her "younger" dog of 12 years died in her arms. She has 2 maltese and they have been with her ever since she was in AZ. The older one (Tiamo) is not doing so well and she really didnt expect the younger (Tasha) one to pass so quickly.
So today, Mom is nursing a fractured rib, numerous cuts & bruises and a broken heart. I am glad I can be here for her. Amazing how the role of being "taken care of" for quickly turns to "taking care of"...

FOR MY LOVED ONES WHO HAVE LOST HAIR DUE TO CHEMO, past or present. . .
http://kellondkid.blogspot.com/
Top Ten Reasons for Having Chemotherapy and Losing Hair:
10. When driving to work, never have to wonder, worry, or obsess if curling iron was left on.
9. No gut-wrenching decisions about having a perm, getting a short cut, or wearing it long and wavy.
8. Gray hair? No problem. . . it no longer shows.
7. Can take on new personality according to wig and/or hat style and stay in character all day.
6. Fun and exciting to elicit startle responses by appearing in public with nothing on head except a bow taped on top.
5.Have a great belly laugh at being mistaken for Demi Moore (GIJane), Sigourney Weaver (Alien) or better yet, Andre Agassi.
4. Save money on shampoo and conditioners and spend it on hot oil head massages . . . body massages if there’s enough oil.
3. Can entertain people sitting behind you by drawing pictures or writing messages on back of bald head.
2. Get revenge at the hair-stylist who once over-charged for a bad hair cut by telling everyone she is responsible for this “new style.”
1. Have ample time to sit in front of mirror, watch hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows slowly grow back, and get priorities straight.

GRAMMYS SO FAR. . .
The acts worth remembering:
Justin Timberlake rocked the house and actually play a mean piano.
Skakira belly danced like you would not believe. I wish I could move like that!!
The Police got back together and did a rendition of Roxanne which was great.
Beyonce did her song from Dreamgirls and actually did a lousy job. It sounded better on the cd. I think she is still pissed from not winning a Golden Globe.
Gnarls Barkly sang "Crazy" in a most beautiful way with an orchestra.
Carrie Underwood sang a remake of Bob Wills "San Antonio Rose" and sounded like an angel. She actally sounded like she was singing from an old country radio. It was great!
Other info:
Mary J. Blige (not one of my favorites) won a lot of awards.
The Dixie Chicks won for Song of the Year and Best Album. When they gave their speech, Natalie said "For the first time in my life, Im speechless". Im suprised they let her talk. ha ha.
Here are some pics of the fashion.
These are 2 of the Great ones.... The Girl from the Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera
Here are two, "What the hell were they thinking"...
Imogen Heap and Steven Cojocaru (what the heck has happened to him?????)
